Injured Colts stars Marlon Mack and Parris Campbell were cheering on their teammates from home on Sunday.

Now, THAT was more like it.

Following their bye, the Indianapolis Colts understandably entered their road matchup against Detroit on Sunday with huge expectations on the heels of consecutive underwhelming performances.

In a pleasant turn of events, head coach Frank Reich’s side answered the call (and then some) to the tune of a dominant 41-21 victory, proving that the team worked tirelessly during the bye to sort out past issues. To put it simply, the offense was unstoppable and the defense was fantastic when it needed to be, returning an interception for a touchdown and sacking Matthew Stafford five times.

Fans in Indianapolis deserved a convincing win like this, and what made the performance all the more enjoyable was the love injured Colts players were showing for their teammates on social media. Running back Marlon Mack, who was lost for the year with a torn Achilles back in Week 1, was spotted going ballistic on Twitter after Jordan Wilkins ripped off a punishing run.

Wilkins surprisingly led the backfield in touches (by a wide margin, too) on Sunday and made the most of his opportunities, taking 20 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. However, he wasn’t the only forgotten Colts RB to dazzle against Detroit.

2018 fourth-round gem Nyheim Hines, who hasn’t contributed much of anything following his breakout showing in Week 1, chipped in with three catches for 54 yards and two absolutely electrifying touchdowns, the first of which he capped off with an acrobatic sequence of flips.

Much like Wilkins, Hines’ performance didn’t go without recognition from his teammates as wide receiver Parris Campbell, who’s been sidelined since Week 2 with a knee injury, unleashed a fiery tweet that had us ready to run through a brick wall mid-game.

Mack even took the time to shout out Hines for his performance, which really helped Indianapolis pull away from Detroit in the second quarter, when they established a 20-7 lead heading into halftime.

That’s what we like to see!

Mack has been nothing short of an inspiration since suffering that gutting injury so early into the season. Per the latest reports, the 24-year-old is constantly around the practice facility and has been a prominent voice during running back meetings. Colts fans can count on him continuing to supply moral support week in and week out.

As for Campbell, it must’ve been thrilling for him watching his teammates ball out vs Detroit. While we haven’t been provided with an update on his recovery, the 2019 second-round pick was never ruled out for the season. His return could very quietly be right around the corner.

Whatever the case, it was great to see Mack and Campbell cheering on the Colts from home on Sunday and we hope their Twitter fingers are as lively as ever during next weekend’s huge home clash against Baltimore.
