Colts QB Philip Rivers was hilarious while mic’d up against the Jets
Let’s get a live feed every week coming straight from Philip Rivers‘ helmet because the energy this man brings to the field is largely unmatched. During the Indianapolis Colts‘ throttling of the New York Jets on Sunday, Rivers was mic’d up and he delivered in every way imaginable.
Talking trash to the defense? Check. Calling Gregg Williams out from the other sideline? You bet. Telling Jonathan Taylor to mow down defenders? All day. Countless other sound effects?
You just gotta listen for yourself.
Those are the sounds of a 36-7 win in which both sides of the ball dominated for Indy. Rivers was enjoying every second of it.
How assured does this team feel with a voice like that leading the way? The grind of a 60-minute football game is difficult enough, and Rivers manages to maintain high spirits and keep everybody engaged as best he can. And he won’t be relenting to the enemy. The Jets were his personal dartboard, as is any opponent for him on a weekly basis.

It’s no wonder he was amped for the occasion. Sunday marked a career milestone for the former first-round pick as he threw his 400th career touchdown pass to Mo Alie-Cox. He had to have known he was going to achieve that against the lowly Jets.
The line of the night, though? “Aggravates the stew outta me.”
We’re not sure what aggravated Rivers in a wire-to-wire beatdown, but we know how competitive the guy is. Any blemish on the evening would’ve elicited some sort of reaction.
Now let’s get a mic on him for this week’s matchup against Nick Foles and the Chicago Bears. That game should be closer and a lot more intense. If Rivers was this animated playing against the Jets’ B-squad, we need to hear what he has to say against a wildly overachieving 3-0 Bears team.
Colts: This stat proves Indy doing unreal job protecting Philip Rivers
This stat proves the Indianapolis Colts' offensive line has been protecting Philip Rivers better than what he's seen in a long, long time.
