The Colts went from 7-9 last season to legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Here are 3 bold predictions for the 2020 season that will make or break the team.

The Colts are in their best position since their 2014 run to the AFC Championship run. The team has a Pro Bowl QB and a much-improved receiver core. They also have a 1-2 punch at RB that could surpass 2,000 rushing yards as a pair, as well as the benefit of running behind the league’s best offensive line.

On defense, their 7th-ranked run defense in 2019 is improved moving into next season with the edition of All-Pro DeForest Buckner. The secondary is also on the rise with draft pick Julian Blackmon and free-agent signing Xavier Rhodes coming in to bolster the back end.

It’s a perfect storm for the Colts, a team that, last season, didn’t look like it had much more than young potential. However, after Chris Ballard’s spectacular off-season, things are much different. The team has gone from a fringe playoff team to dark-horse Super Bowl contenders with one of the best rosters in the AFC.

With this much-improved roster, any projection of the team’s season is merely speculative, as facilities have yet to even open for the coming year. Regardless, it never hurts to make a few bold predictions, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen here.

Here are three bold predictions for the Colts. Each one will be broken down into the likelihood of it happening and how critical it is to actually happen in 2020.
