Indianapolis Colts 2010’s All-Decade team
By Ryan Stano
The Colts weren’t known for their defensive firepower in the 2010s. Quite frankly, defense has always been the weak point on this team since they have moved to Indianapolis. Linebacker was a tough position to fill on this All-Decade team.
One outside linebacker spot was an easy fill though. That spot goes to Darius Leonard. Leonard has only been in the league for two years but was a First-Team All-Pro selection in 2018 and a Second-Team selection in 2019. He’s already one of the best linebackers in the league.
D’Qwell Jackson makes it at middle linebacker. Jackson played in Indy from 2014-2016. He made the Pro Bowl in 2014 and was the unquestioned leader of the defense the entire time he was in Indy. He had a whopping 366 tackles in those three years.
The final linebacker position was much tougher to fill. In the end, Jerrell Freeman gets it because of sheer tackle volume. He accounted for 478 tackles in the four years he played in Indianapolis. While he only truly had one really good year, he still gets the nod.
We finally round out the defense by naming the secondary starters in our All-Decade team. Some were easy choices while one was particularly hard.
