The Indianapolis Colts won the 2020 draft by far. The team addressed every position of need and selected some of the class’ best players. Here’s an analysis of every Colts offensive draft pick and a projection for their role in the 2020 NFL season.

Moving forward from my last piece on all of the offensive draft picks the Colts made this past weekend, the defensive picks were arguably just as successful. One of the biggest needs for the team was to address the underperforming secondary from last year.

They prioritized this by selected Julian Blackmon in the 3rd round and Isaiah Rodgers in the 6th. The team also added depth in the other position groups as the other two selections this past weekend.

The defensive line is also something that needed to be fixed greatly as well. They did this before the draft by trading away their first-round pick to the 49ers in exchange for DeForest Buckner. Then they signed his former teammate Sheldon Day.

But they weren’t done there. They also decided to draft a defensive lineman as well to help further address that issue and add some depth along the interior of the line. Chris Ballard is showing that he wants to control the line of scrimmage as much as possible.

Let’s take a look at every Colts defensive draft pick and project what their roles will be in 2020.
