Josiah Coatney is a player who can get the job done in rush defense situations. At 6’4″, 325 pounds, this monster can get through the offensive line quickly and efficiently. I also stated the Colts should go after D.J Reader, another run stuffer, but why spend the money when you can develop a player like that? For all three of his seasons at Ole Miss, he had over 20 run-stops with is top 3 in the NCAA over that time period.

Coatney is a player who needs some help and time to develop, but it’s worth the 5th round pick and the possible few year’s developmental processes.

Pros:

  • Very fast off the ball
  • Consistent playmaking ability
  • pushes guards backward

Cons:

  • Tends to charge open gaps without pursuit ability
  •  24 years old as a rookie
  • doesn’t use hands to his advantage
