5. Jacob Eason, Washington

There’s a bit of a drop off at this point for the Colts, even with the depth that Chris Ballard mentioned recently. Jacob Eason is on the board next here.

We’ve mentioned arm talent with the previous two quarterbacks, and Eason is on that level as well. He can make some impressive tight window throws that make your jaw drop, and can push the ball down the field vertically. He also has improved with his footwork in his time at Washington, along with his touch down the field. Eason needs to clean up his decision making at the next level, making him another candidate to sit for a year.

The Colts should consider him at 34, and he happy with the pick at 44.

6. Jake Fromm, Georgia

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm comes in at six on the quarterback big board. Fromm doesn’t have the tools that other prospects do, but his abilities can still translate to the next level.

He is the top quarterback in the class when it comes to mental processing. Fromm often knows exactly where to go with the football and gets the ball out quickly. He can command an offense well at the next level and be an immediate starter. For the Colts, he makes sense because of Frank Reich’s offense, which works in the short and intermediate areas of the field.

Fromm should be in consideration at 44 for the Colts.
