1. Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama

Are you shocked? Maybe a little bit? Well don’t be. It’s certainly close, but Tua Tagovailoa is the top quarterback on this Colts big board. The injury questions are definitely there, but teams have given very positive updates when they’ve looked at him so far this week. If Tagovailoa continues to progress like this, he should be throwing before the draft.

So what makes him the top quarterback? Tagovailoa’s mental and physical trigger are quick. He knows when to get the ball out and where it needs to go. His quick release and top notch accuracy make him a great fit for the Colts. His arm may not be elite, but his accuracy deep down the field and in short areas is outstanding. Tagovailoa’s ability to maneuver the pocket, an underrated trait for quarterbacks, has consistently gotten better in his time at Alabama. He’s also gotten better and reading the defense pre-snap, something not often seen with young quarterbacks.

2. Joe Burrow, LSU

LSU golden boy Joe Burrow comes in second here to Tagovailoa, only by a short margin. Burrow had an unbelievable season with the Tigers in 2019, putting up 60 touchdowns to just six interceptions.

His accuracy to all levels of the field stood above every other quarterback in the class in 2019. Burrow’s pocket manipulation is also tops in the class, as he always seems to know when exactly to leave the pocket or make a slight movement around it. He can also make plays with his legs. Burrow would also be a great fit in Indy, as he worked through a lot of quick game passing concepts with Joe Brady at LSU.

The Colts should trade up for either.
