Jake Fromm took over for Jacob Eason as the starting quarterback of Georgia early into his freshman year. He was then the starter for the Bulldogs for three straight years. He put up some decent stats, throwing for 78 touchdowns to just 18 interceptions in his career.

But Fromm had issues playing well against the best competition. In the SEC Championship this year against LSU, he only completed 47.5 % of his passes and threw 1 touchdown to 2 interceptions. He also threw 3 picks in the loss at home to South Carolina.

To be fair, Fromm did play well against 7th ranked Notre Dame this year, completing 20/26 passes. But that team ended up not being a top team by the end of the year. Fromm also did not throw for over 300 yards in any game this season, and only did once last season.

Fromm seems like a very lukewarm prospect to me. He doesn’t move the needle enough to be an elite franchise quarterback. He seems to me like he would be better suited for a backup role. The Colts aren’t looking for a backup quarterback, their looking for someone to lead them for 10 years.

The last guy on this list did look like a really good prospect early in his college career, but failed to produce over the last couple of years.
