Anthony Castonzo could be retiring before the season starts. If that happens, the Colts are in a big need for a left tackle. I would be surprised if he did step away from the game right now considering he is still near the top of his game.

Even if he does come back, it signals to the Colts that they need to prepare for the future. Robert Hunt would be a good guy to develop behind Castonzo for a future starting position. He is a large man who can move well enough laterally keep rushers at bay.

Hunt still needs a bit of work before he would be ready to step into a starting role. He doesn’t use his hands quite as well as he could and is a little slow to recognize pass rushers’ moves. But once he learns those things, he has the potential to turn into a great player.

Getting a player of Hunt’s quality in the fourth round would be nice for a team that needs to build depth along the offensive line. It would allow them to finally remove Le’Raven Clark from the roster, a bust that has never looked good in the league.

Once the combine comes, we will start doing full mock drafts all the way through the teams’ nine picks. That will narrow the pool a little bit. But until then, does this seem like a plan you would like the team to follow?
