Pick Analysis. DT. Auburn. 13. Scouting Report. DerrickBrown. player. 46

Derrick Brown has had a prolific college career at Auburn and should continue that in the NFL. He has great size for a defensive tackle at 6’5 318, and moves faster than anyone that size should be capable of. He is a wrecker on the inside of the defensive line.

Brown recorded 33 tackles for loss in his career at Auburn. He also recorded 12.5 sacks and recovered two fumbles. Brown is the interior presence that the Colts need to get pressure on the quarterback. The defensive line as a whole had issues with that in 2019.

The biggest issue in the second half of the season was the secondary. But they were such an issue because the front four couldn’t get any pressure on anyone. Adding Brown to the fold should help fix that issue. Pairing him with Justin Houston and Jabaal Sheard would scare offensive lines.

Because of how good Brown is at forcing pressure, he essentially helps fix two areas of need for the Colts. He fixes the defensive line and the secondary. Assuming that Brown is still available, Chris Ballard would be extremely happy to have Brown come into the organization.

The Colts have two second round picks this season, and one of them is essentially a late first rounder. They address a couple of other needs with those picks.
