We already looked at what the best game for the Colts was this season. Now it’s time to look at which one was the worst.

The Colts were 5-2 after winning their best game of the season against the Chiefs. But after that, they only won two more games. Their slide was punctuated by one of the worst games on national television I have ever seen, and was the worst loss they had this season.

That game was the Monday night game against the Saints in New Orleans. The Colts got slaughtered in that one 34-7. They only scored at the end of the game with a garbage touchdown that had no bearing on the final score whatsoever.

What makes this game so bad is that they still had a chance to make the playoffs. The loss the week before to the Buccaneers had greatly diminished their chances, but they were still in the hunt. This effort showed everyone that they were not going to be playing in the postseason.

Drew Brees literally only threw one incompletion in this game. He could not be stopped, and broke the all-time touchdown record in this game too. In contrast, Jacoby Brissett was terrible, only completing 18 of 34 pass attempts for just 165 yards.

The reason why this loss is worse than the Dolphins loss is because of the stage they were on. This was on national television for the whole world to see. The Colts could have made a huge upset and made a big statement. Instead, they rolled over and died.

Their goal should be to not have a game even remotely close to this result next season. If they do, they won’t be making the postseason once again.
