Two all-time greats were named as finalists for the 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame. One of the Colts players is a first time finalist as well.

The Hall of Fame has plenty of Colts in it, but not a lot from when the organization has been in Indianapolis. Marvin Harrison recently got inducted, and Peyton Manning will surely get it in a couple of years. Tony Dungy is another guy who got recently inducted.

This year, the Colts have an opportunity to get two of their own into the Hall of Fame. Edgerrin James and Reggie Wayne are both one of 15 modern-era finalists for the 2020 class. This is Wayne’s first time as a nominee, while James has been nominated for the fourth time.

James played for the Colts from 1999-2005. He received a Super Bowl ring from the championship team of 2006, even though he was no longer a member of the organization. James rushed for 12,246 yards and 80 touchdowns in his illustrious career.

Wayne played his entire career with the Colts from 2001-2014. He caught most of his passes from Peyton Manning, but also caught them from Andrew Luck in the last three years of his career. He caught 1,070 passes for 14,345 yards and 82 touchdowns in Indy.

Both of these guys played on the same great early 2000’s teams that were feared around the league because of how explosive the offense was. Wayne is probably the second best receiver in team history behind Harrison, and James has a claim as best back the organization has ever had.
