Colts vs. Jaguars: 2019 Week 17 game predictions
By Ryan Stano
The Colts play the Jags in the final game of 2019. Who wins and leaves 2019 with some momentum heading into the offseason?
It’s been a disappointing season for both teams. Both the Colts and the Jaguars have had issues all season long. Neither team will be making the playoffs, so this game is just about pride. It should still be a hard-fought game, and both teams will be trying to win.
The key to the game for the Colts will be the running game. It was working well in the last matchup, as they ran for 264 yards as a team. Marlon Mack should be fed at least 20 times on Sunday. The offensive line needs to get push at the line of attack.
Jacoby Brissett gets one more shot to show he is the quarterback of the future. Expect them to throw the ball deep early in the game. They will want to open up the defense to make it easier to run the ball. He has to be semi-efficient in order for the Colts to win the game.
On defense, they have to get pressure on Gardner Minshew. That will help out the secondary, who has struggled in the second half of the season. Expect the Colts defense to send some blitzes their way too. Darius Leonard could record a couple of sacks.
Game prediction: Colts 24 Jaguars 13
The Colts will want to win this game for pride purposes. They are the more talented team, and should win this game. The defense will keep Minshew under wraps and win a meaningless game to get the team to an 8-8 record and hurt their draft position further.
In the end, watch this game because it will be the last time you get to watch this team this year. Even though the game not mean much, it’s still one last time to watch this team that we love.
