The Colts play in New Orleans tonight in a game that could either keep their season alive, or end their playoff hopes for good.
The Colts got some help last night when the Bills beat the Steelers. That keeps hope of them getting that 6-seed alive. They actually still have a chance to win the AFC South if Houston loses their final two games, and Tennessee loses next week.
But none of that matters if the Colts don’t take care of business tonight. They will be the healthiest they have been in weeks. Only Kenny Moore is ruled out of this game with both Pierre Desir and T.Y. Hilton being game-time decisions. I doubt Hilton plays but Desir should.
They are going to need Desir because the Saints have one of the most potent passing attacks in the league. The Colts got shredded through the air last week against Tampa Bay. Hopefully they made some adjustments, otherwise this will be a long night for Indy.
Marlon Mack is a week healthier so we should see him used more in the second half. Jacoby Brissett should also throw the ball deep more. He did a few times last week and had success doing so. Expect that to be part of the game plan tonight as well.
Game prediction: Saints 31 Colts 17
This was the same score the Colts lost by in the Super Bowl in 2009. But it just feels right for tonight. The passing defense is still bad and they can’t move the ball with consistency late in games. This will be the game that finally ends the Colts’ playoff hopes.
If they do somehow pull off the upset, it could give this team some great momentum down the stretch. Then they could become dangerous.
