This is a do or die game for the Colts on Sunday. Losing would likely mean the end of their chances of making the playoffs.
It’s a shame that it has come down to this. Early in the season, the Colts were 5-2 and in second place in the AFC. They were riding high after some solid wins, highlighted by beating the Chiefs in Arrowhead on Sunday night. Now, they’re in a big time slide fighting for their playoff lives.
The Titans are coming in hot. Ryan Tannehill has reinvigorated this offense and has changed the trajectory of this team. They are now tied with the Colts in terms of record at 6-5. The winner of this game still has a chance to win the division, and improves their chances of being the 6th seed.
This game is going to be a tough game. It’s in Lucas Oil Stadium, which does help. But the Colts will be without T.Y. Hilton for the third time in the last four games. They don’t have any solid playmakers that can be relied on without him. Everyone else is hurt too.
Jacoby Brissett has to have a bounce back game. He has to show that he isn’t afraid to make throws down the field. Even if they aren’t completed, it takes the top off the defense and forces them to defend a different part of the field. He needs to help Jonathan Williams out.
Game predictions: Colts 21 Titans 17
Call me crazy, but I still have some faith in this team. With their backs against the wall, they are going to fight to the very last whistle. They will be able to win on the strength of Williams and the running game and their defense. Kenny Moore and company will play more zone and shut down Tannehill just enough.
If the Colts don’t get this result, things could turn south very quickly at the end of this season.
