The way it’s looking the Colts might have to field a JV squad on Thursday night. Right now, there are several players who were too hurt to be in the walkthrough.

Thursday night is the biggest game of the season for the Colts and the Texans both. Unfortunately, the game is on a short week. Whoever wins takes control of the AFC South. That is especially true if the Colts win, as they would effectively have a two game lead over Houston.

Unfortunately, they had 11 people who wouldn’t have been healthy enough to practice. Mo Alie-Cox had a thumb injury. George Odum was out with a shoulder injury. Clayton Geathers was held out due to rest purposes, which is the only positive on this report.

T.Y. Hilton was out with his calf injury. He has an outside shot to play, but it still seems unlikely. Eric Ebron wasn’t there with an ankle injury. Anthony Castonzo has a toe injury. That would be a big blow, as the offensive line doesn’t have a good answer at backup left tackle.

Shakial Taylor has an ankle injury and was held out. So too does Jordan Wilkins, and he wasn’t out there either. If Wilkins can’t go, it will be Jonathan Williams who gets the majority of snaps with Marlon out with a broken hand. Khari Willis is the other player already ruled out with a concussion.

Two players would’ve only been limited participants. Those were Pierre Desir and Parris Campbell. Campbell is coming back from his broken hand. Desir is still dealing with that hamstring injury. Getting either of them back would be fantastic.

It doesn’t look good early in the week for the Colts. Hopefully at least some of these guys will be ready to go.
