3 possible trade candidates for the Colts
By Ryan Stano
Margus Hunt had a great year last season. He was one of the reasons the Colts defense was vastly improved. The Colts rewarded him by signing him to a two-year $9 million extension. But he hasn’t lived up to that contract so far this season.
In fact, Hunt has played so poorly that he seems to have lost his starting spot. Against Denver, Grover Stewart got the start instead of Hunt. It stands to reason that once Tyquan Lewis is finally totally healthy that he would see time over Hunt as well.
Hunt would command more of a price than Wilson. The Colts could reasonably get a third round pick for Hunt. It obviously would depend on what team was interested in him. Hunt is a much lower candidate to get moved because the Colts love having defensive line depth.
The best thing Hunt has going for him is that he did just sign that two-year deal. The Colts decided to commit at least a couple of years to him and might still believe he can help them. He’s been bad, but not God-awful like Wilson has been at times.
The last guy on this list is just in a crowded room and that’s why he might need to be moved for compensation elsewhere.
