The Colts got some help in the fight for the division crown during their bye week, but not the help that they really wanted.

The Colts were tied for first place in the division going into this week, which was their bye week. They were tied with the Texans for the top spot. Unfortunately, they are no longer tied, as they have slipped behind the Texans by a half game.

That is because the Texans beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead 31-24. It is the second consecutive week that an AFC South team has beaten the Chiefs at home. The Chiefs hardly possessed the ball in the second half, and it led to a loss. The Texans face the Colts next week in a monster showdown.

Jacksonville didn’t play their best brand of football. They lost to the Saints 13-6 in a game that didn’t feature a lot of points. The loss drops the Jags to 2-4 and tied for last place in the division. They get a chance for a win next week though as they play the Bengals.

Tennessee is that other last place team. They fell again yesterday, losing to the Broncos 16-0. Marcus Mariota was benched in this game. It seems like the Titans are falling apart. Next week, they take on the struggling Chargers, so maybe they can win that one.

Sunday will be the biggest game of the season for the Colts. Playing the Texans in a battle for first place means both teams will be motivated to play their best football in this one.
