Justin Houston was the big name free agent that the Colts signed in the offseason. He was signed to a two-year deal to bring his pass rushing expertise to Indianapolis. Through three games though, he hasn’t really produced to the level of that $24 million contract.

So far, Houston only has one sack through three games. This is not the sack rate the Colts thought they were getting when they signed him. In fact, he only has three quarterback hits through those three games as well. He’s just not getting to the quarterback the way he should.

This could be a game where Houston breaks out. Derek Carr has been sacked seven times already this season. Houston has a chance to break through and get at least one in this game. The Colts need to see their pass rush improve from last week where they had no sacks.

Getting a consistent pass rush is key in this game. Pressuring the quarterback takes more pressure off of the linebackers, who could be without Darius Leonard for the second straight week because of that concussion. It will also take pressure off the secondary.

The secondary is where our third key player resides. He will be getting his first NFL start because of injury to Malik Hooker. But he has already played a lot of snaps and looked good so far in his young career.
