If T.Y. Hilton doesn’t get healthy enough to play this week, the Colts could be down their top two receivers for next week’s game.

T.Y. Hilton has been great so far this season. He has been Jacoby Brissett‘s number one target, and has caught a touchdown pass in every game so far. But he hurt his quad again on Sunday, and didn’t play the entire second half. That quad injury could be a big problem.

If he doesn’t get that healed up before next week, the Colts could be without their top two receivers for their game against Oakland. Remember, they are already without Devin Funchess after he broke his collarbone in the opener and was placed on IR.

Being without their top two guys would be a big blow for this offense. Brissett looked great out there with Hilton, and Hilton caught 8 balls in just the first half. Losing Hilton would mean that defensive backs can just focus on their tight ends and force someone else to beat them.

If Hilton is out, expect the Colts to rely even more on their run game than they have so far this season. It would also leave Parris Campbell and Deon Cain as the top two targets on the outside. That would mean a lot more passes would get thrown to the tight ends too.

Next. Colts won Sunday, but at a great cost. dark

Hopefully, Hilton is healthy for next week’s game and this isn’t an issue. But it is something the coaching staff has to prepare for as a real scenario.
