Unfortunately, there are plenty of Colts on the injury report on Thursday. This includes several starters.

The Colts were relatively healthy for the first couple of games. They didn’t have too many key players out. That may change for their home opener though, as there are several players listed on the injury report, and two didn’t practice at all.

Darius Leonard is one of those who didn’t practice. He is still going through the concussion protocol. At this point, there is a very good chance that he doesn’t play on Sunday. That would be a huge blow to this defense. They need him on the field as much as possible.

The other player who didn’t practice is Marlon Mack. Mack has been out with a calf injury. He did do some drills on a side field though, so my guess is that he would play. That’s a good thing, because the Colts certainly need him to play well.

Pierre Desir, T.Y. Hilton, and Jabaal Sheard were limited participants today. Desir has that knee issue that was nagging him in the last game as well. Hilton now has a quad issue. Both should be ready to go for Sunday, although Hilton being on the injury report is concerning.

Sheard is back at practice for the first time since early training camp. He had knee surgery early in camp, and hasn’t played since last year. He might play on Sunday, but if he does it won’t be for very many snaps. He might be more effective next week.

Al-Quadin Muhammad, Jacoby Brissett, Kemoko Turay, and Jonathan Williams were all full participants. Muhammad has a shoulder injury, and Brissett has a knee problem. Turay has that neck issue and Williams is recovering from that rib injury.

It will be interesting to see if the Colts activate Williams. He is still listed on the depth chart ahead of Jordan Wilkins, but Wilkins had a really nice game last week. That will be an interesting development to follow.

A lot of these injuries can be played through, but it’s still concerning seeing so many players on the injury report before week three.
