After two weeks of the season, the Colts are a top of the AFC South. Here’s how the other teams in the division did this week to help them ascend to that top spot.

It was a matchup of divisional foes for the AFC South. Each team in the division played each other in an early season matchup to see who could take the lead in the division. Right now, there are two teams atop the divisional standings with equal 1-1 records.

The Colts of course are one of those teams. After beating the Titans on Sunday 19-17, they make their divisional record 1-0 to take the tiebreaker from the Titans, who are also 1-1. Indy will play the Falcons on Sunday, while the Titans take on another divisional foe in the Jaguars on Thursday night.

Speaking of those Jaguars, they played the Texans in week two. The Texans have had back-to-back nail-biter games. This one, they ended up winning 13-12 after the Jaguars failed a two point conversion which would have given them the win.

Neither of these teams look very strong right now. The Jags are clearly the worst team in the division after losing Nick Foles in the opener, but Gardner Minshew has done admirable work in his place. But neither team are as good as Tennessee or Indianapolis.

The Jaguars play Thursday night against the Titans. Houston travels to Los Angeles to play the Chargers, the team that beat the Colts in week one. Ideally, the Texans and the Titans both lose this week while the Colts win. That would give the Colts the outright lead in the division.

Next. Colts take big division win. dark

So far, the Colts have done what they’ve needed to do in the division. Hopefully that keeps up.
