Houston may have won the division last year, but this is the Colts’ division. It’s up to debate on who has the best chance to change that narrative.

Yes the Indianapolis Colts have lost their franchise quarterback. Yes it was about a week before the season opener, and yes there is reason for expectations to be lowered for this team after Andrew Lucks’ retirement. However, the Colts have the best roster in the AFC South and also have the most sound franchise in the division.

This is an unpopular opinion outside of the organization and fan base, but it should be an obvious truth. Indianapolis has the best all-around roster, with a mixture of young talent and veteran leaders who have had decorated careers.

Frank Reich is a bright offensive mind as the head coach, and that will play to Jacoby Brissett‘s strengths. With creative play calling as well as a new stable of toys in the wide receiving group, the offense is poised to continue the success they had last season.

There is more than just the playmaking on the offensive side of the ball. On the opposite side of the ball, the Indianapolis defense is young, athletic, disciplined, and continuing to truly improve in every week.

With the mixture of dumpster fires and under-performing teams in the AFC South, the Colts are the team to beat in the division. Jacoby Brissett is now at the helm and this is his year to either prove that he should be the Indianpolis Colts franchise quarterback or find a new home. Brissett has pressure put on him, however (in my opinion) he is up to the task ready to take the throne of this team as well as the division.
