Perhaps the fiercest competition for jobs have come from the wide receiver position. It was a battle all through camp and has continued this preseason. Daurice Fountain’s injury means that there is one spot left, as the Colts will likely only keep 6 receivers.

The locked in guys are T.Y. Hilton, Devin Funchess, Parris Campbell, Deon Cain, and Chester Rogers. Rogers makes it because he is the primary punt returner, and special teams are a big thing to Frank Reich. That leaves one last spot.

That last spot is very intriguing. Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson, and Krishawn Hogan are the most likely candidates for that last spot. Pascal hurt his chances on Saturday, dropping his two targets. Johnson also had a drop, but still had some catches as well.

It’s going to come down to the wire for this one. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it come down to the final cuts to see who takes this final receiver job. All three will likely have until the final preseason game to make their case to be on the final roster.
