The Colts play their second preseason game today at 4pm. They play the team who they had over at Grand Park for two joint practices at the end of camp.

The Colts have a lot that need to be learned about in this second preseason game. There are some injuries, mainly the one with Andrew Luck, that need to be accounted for when it comes to playing time. In other words, they need to make sure that Jacoby Brissett is ready to start week 1.

That is the biggest thing to watch tonight in Indy; how Brissett and this first team offense looks. He didn’t look that great during the joint practice sessions, so it will be interesting to see how they do in the game itself. This isn’t the only thing to keep an eye out for though.

The offensive line has had an extremely disappointing camp so far, and were disappointing in the first preseason game against the Bills. They need to show that they can get off the ball and make a push in the run game and protect the passer as well. That’s especially true for the first team.

On the defensive side of the ball, I’m watching the back seven in particular. There’s still a question of who will take the other outside corner job. It’s between Rock Ya-Sin and Quincy Wilson. With everything I’ve seen so far, it looks like it’s Ya-Sin’s to lose.

The linebackers have the same competition going on. All of the spots are up for grabs except for Darius Leonard‘s spot. Rookies Bobby Okereke and EJ Speed have gotten first team reps, but the starters right now are Anthony Walker and Matthew Adams. That could change.

The offense is still the most important thing they have to get right in today’s game. Hopefully they look better than they have so far this preseason.
