Training camp just started, but already there are some players nursing some injuries, and the coaching staff is being extra careful with them.

Training camp officially started on Wednesday and all of the Colts players reported. Most were excited to get to work and improve on what should be a great team. But others were held back because of some slight injury concerns early on.

Andrew Luck, Jack Doyle, Ross Travis, and Deon Cain will be held back a bit to start camp. All of these guys had some injury problems that the team wants to be overly cautious with. Travis and Cain had torn ACL’s, Doyle had his hip injury, and Luck has had a calf strain.

From the reports that are coming out, nothing is serious with any of these guys. The team just wants to be ultra-cautious with these guys and not have them go full-throttle immediately. Expect them to be worked in progressively as camp goes on.

One player was placed on the PUP however. That player is Spencer Ware, the backup running back signed in the offseason. He will be out a couple of weeks, so that isn’t too bad. While they placed Ware there, they removed Daurice Fountain. Fountain is now healthy and ready for camp.

None of these injuries are something to be concerned about right now. But it is something to monitor the rest of the way if these guys are still held out of drills a couple of weeks from now. Being healthy is the biggest key for this team to be where they want to be at the end of the year.
