Young teams always need to learn how to win before they can do it on a consistent basis. The Colts did that learning last year so they can win bigger this year.

2018 was a season full of ups and downs. The season started off slow as the Colts got off to a 1-5 start. Then they got hot and finished the year at 10-6 and won a playoff game in Houston. The experience of that turbulence will be valuable to them this season.

The Colts were, and still are, one of the youngest teams in the league. To go through what they did last year was a valuable tool for them in their maturation as a team. Teams have to learn to win before they can do it on a bigger stage. The Colts certainly learned how to win last season.

Going through that adversity should help them navigate a much tougher schedule in 2019. They play a lot more teams with winning records and teams that made the playoffs. It won’t be an easy path for them to make it back to the playoffs.

But the experience they gained a year ago should help them prevail. Knowing how to fix bad situations without panicking will be key for them. They did it last year after their terrible start, so there is no reason to suggest they can’t do it again this season.

All this experience should lead to the team winning big games when it matters. Getting deeper into the playoffs is the ultimate goal for this team. Last season should help them with that.
