Pro Football Focus released their rankings of the most talented rosters in football this season. The Colts were ranked way lower than what they should be.
This is ranking season. When there isn’t much going on and it’s before training camp has started, people start ranking things. In this case, Pro Football Focus used their grades to rank the best rosters in the league. The Colts were ranked 10th on that list.
The top four are just fine. The Patriots, Rams, Saints, and Eagles are listed in that order. That is fine, as all of those teams are very talented and have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations this season. After that is where I have a problem with the rankings.
Fifth on the list is the Bears. While they have a very good defense, they just lost their defensive coordinator. They also have unproven talent at the quarterback position. Putting them that high is dangerous. It’s the same thing with the 8th and 9th teams on this list.
They have the Steelers at 8 and the Vikings at 9. This is an absurd ranking for both, as they both should be far below the Colts. The Steelers just lost two of their best offensive players, and have a porous secondary. The Vikings still have a quarterback who can’t win a big game.
The Colts, at a bare minimum should be ranked 6th or 7th on this list. They have a very talented offense, and a defense that was ranked in the top ten last season. To have them this low is just straight up disrespect.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but mine is that this ranking is incorrect. It may add more fuel to the Colts’ fire once the season starts.
