The offseason is a great time for players to develop their skills and get better. The Colts are enjoying their time doing just that.
OTA’s are a good tool for a young team. It allows everyone to get together to work and try to get better. It also helps develop chemistry amongst the players. For the quarterbacks and wide receivers, it’s an especially important time. It helps them get on the same page.
Voluntary offseason work helps everyone who gets involved in it. It’s a lighter work load that still helps players improve their skills without having to bust their butts too much. it’s also a good time for new player to get acclimated with the new playbook they have to learn.
The Colts are enjoying their time in OTA’s. They want to get rid of the bad taste they still have inter mouth after getting waxed in the playoffs by Kansas City. They now they still have work to do if they want to beat that team, or the AFC champion New England Patriots.
This is the time where championships are made though. The extra work that is done today pays dividends later in the season. The mental work is what helps in crunch time when you don’t have time to think. This is the time where that mental work is done.
Hopefully this extra work allows the Colts to play better in the playoffs this year and pushes them further than where they got in 2018. But the harder they work, the better they get.
