Mo Alie-Cox is a former basketball player who tried to convert to a tight end. He has done some really good things at times, including a ridiculous one-handed touchdown catch last season. But his time with the Colts could be coming to an end.

Alie-Cox has always intrigued the Colts with his athleticism. He is a big target out there who has pretty decent hands. But his biggest problem has always been blocking. That is the biggest reason why his job could be in jeopardy come late summertime.

The Colts re-signed Ross Travis in the offseason because they like his potential as well. With Jack Doyle and Eric Ebron ahead of Alie-Cox on the depth chart, it could be hard for him to move up. He has spent a lot of time on the practice squad the last few years as well.

The inability to be counted on during run downs has really limited his chances to get snaps. His blocking has improved, but just not enough. He doesn’t use his hands well enough and can too easily get knocked off his spot as a blocker.

It is certainly not a foregone conclusion that Alie-Cox will be cut. He still has good pass-catching skills. But it wouldn’t be surprising to see him go. The same can be said for this next player.
