The Colts decided to let go of a receiver who they signed to a one-year deal last offseason. That receiver has now signed with the Raiders.

Ryan Grant has officially found a new home. The receiver had signed with the Colts for one year after previously being in Washington. But now he calls Oakland home. The terms of his deal are not presently available, but it comes as a surprising move.

Grant wasn’t very good while he was Indy. He ended up having an ankle injury that he had to battle  at the end of the year. He wasn’t available for the stretch run of the season. Even when he was available, he didn’t produce very much. It was quite disappointing.

In his one year in Indianapolis, Grant only had 35 catches for 334 yards and 1 touchdown in 14 games that he played. He was so ineffective at the end of the year that Andrew Luck ended up looking more at Dontrelle Inman and Chester Rogers. Inman actually emerged as the number two receiver.

The Raiders decided to bring him in and add him to the receiving corp. He will play alongside newly acquired receiver Antonio Brown. It will be interesting to see how he fits into their dynamic and see if he can resurrect his career after having such a bad showing last season.

The Colts never really tried to bring Grant back. He was only signed to a one-year deal for a reason, and it was to prove he could stay healthy and produce. He clearly couldn’t so they let him walk. Now they will find someone else who will fit better.
