Colts half mock draft 1.0: First three rounds
By Ryan Stano
The Colts still need some depth on the interior of the defensive line. While moving Tyquan Lewis inside to make room for the newly acquired Justin Houston might help, bringing in Lewis’ former teammate could too. Dre’Mont Jones would be a great fit.
Jones wrecked people at Ohio State. He is always near the ball making big plays, getting to the quarterback or not. And he can get to the quarterback. He had 8.5 sacks last season. Jones would be a great addition to help push the pocket.
Jones also has a high motor. He doesn’t take plays off, so he will always give high effort. Having a guy like that on defense is paramount. A good defensive line rotation is also a good thing in the NFL, so Jones would help add depth along a key group.
Defensive line isn’t the biggest need for the team, but they can always use more good players. Jones would give them that. This next guy could also help on defense, but might need developed a little bit.
