A.J. Brown continues to be the name that makes sense for the Colts in this spot. He had great production while at Ole Miss, having over 1,000 yards receiving the past two seasons. The Colts need another wide receiver alongside T.Y. Hilton, and he would be great.

While the Colts did just sign Devin Funchess in the offseason, that deal is only for one year. Funchess will need to prove that he can finally live up to his potential if he wants a future in Indianapolis. That leaves a spot open at the number two receiver slot.

Brown would be a great fit there because of his size and production. He is 6’1 225, and has very reliable hands. Reliable hands are something the Colts need after the bouts of drops they had from everyone a season ago. That was hard to watch.

Taking Brown in the first round addressed a major need that the Colts have right now. They need more guys that Andrew Luck can rely on in tough situations. Brown could be that guy for years to come.

This next guy could help on the opposite side of the ball.
