The Colts finally got a fully healthy season from their franchise quarterback. But next year could be even better for him and for the team.

Andrew Luck was finally able to get through a full season healthy. Because of that, he was able to post career highs in several categories. He also led the Colts to the playoffs for the first time since reaching the AFC Championship game in 2014.

Even after all of that, Luck can still be even better in 2019. That is because he will finally have a full offseason where he can just try to improve his craft. He won’t be working on any rehab of any sort. He can just worry about being a better quarterback for the Colts.

That is huge. He will finally be pain free and won’t have to spend the first few weeks of the season warming up and getting his feel for the game back. He can just be ready to play from the start of the season on. That not only helps him, but it helps the rest of the offense too.

Luck should get some roster upgrades in the offseason too. They need a true number two receiver and some more depth along the offensive line. But Luck will be deadly even if his cast around him doesn’t improve very much. He is that good.

I would be surprised if Luck didn’t play better than he did in 2018. He should set new career highs in completion percentage and possibly touchdowns. He is playing that well at this stage of his career. And when he is playing that well, the Colts are a scary team.
