Earl Thomas was a member of the Legion of Boom in Seattle. He helped that defense become a force and win a Super Bowl title while making another one. But then the Legion broke apart, and Thomas is the only one left standing in Seattle.

Thomas had last season cut short by a broken leg. But he has been productive in all of his seasons and is a great help in stopping the run. He also hasn’t had a single season in which he does not have an interception. That kind of playmaking could make him attractive to the Colts.

But Thomas is coming off of a broken leg and is about to turn 30. He could wear down and not be as an effective player as he once was. It would be a risk to sign Thomas and let Clayton Geathers, a younger, lesser version of what Thomas is, walk away in free agency.

Thomas is still good enough to help the Colts and would be a good addition to the team. He doesn’t have any off the field baggage, which can’t be said for the next guy on the list.
