The offseason is here so it’s time to speculate on who the Colts should go after in free agency. These are the top five free agents they should look at.

The Colts have a bunch of cap space to use in free agency. They actually have the most amount of projected cap space in the league, so their spending doesn’t need to be frugal. There is no shortage of quality players available out there too.

Even though they have that cap space, they might not use it. Chris Ballard has emphasized building through he draft as opposed to free agency. But they would be wise to use this cap space on a top player out there in free agency.

These five players I’m about to name are all top guys. They could afford to sign two of them, maybe three at the max. But they will likely only sign one or two of them, if any of them at all. It’s more of a philosophy thing more than anything in free agency.

Without further ado, here are the top five players the Colts should look at in free agency.
