The Colts defense has come through time and time again so far this season, and Kansas City will finally be there chance to establish themselves on a national scale.

When you have a resume like this Colts defense currently has, it tells a lot about how good these guys really are. They have got Darius Leonard, who led the NFL in tackles as a rookie. They have a defense that shut out the Cowboys for the first time since 2003. And they have got a defense that has had 6 games where they did not give up more than 10 points.

If the Colts had received more national attention throughout this season, they would have been getting praised in all phases of the game, especially defense. And it would be well earned. Matt Eberflus has implemented a system that the Colts have gravitated towards, and the results have been unbelievable.

In their first act of the playoffs, they took down a offense led by Deshaun Watson, and quite frankly… they did it with ease. They slowed down a Texans team that has scored over 20 points in their previous seven games. But again, that is what the Colts expect out of themselves. As you can see here, myself and a few others had the feeling that this was possible, and to watch it play out throughout the course of the season has been a great ride.

But it is not over quite yet, as Indy will be facing their toughest challenge all year, and playing one of the best offenses that the NFL has seen in over the past few years. They will be lining up against Patrick Mahomes and company, and they will be doing it in Arrowhead Stadium, one of the toughest places to play for visitors.

The Colts are once again underdogs, as they seem to have been all season, and it is believed that this game will more than likely be a game of offensive supremacy. But for this Colts defense, they have other thoughts. For Pierre Desir and Kenny Moore, it is a chance to shut down the best passing attack in the league. For Anthony Walker and Darius Leonard, it is an opportunity to show that they are the best linebacker combo in the league.

If a playoff game could have an added importance, this is the game where that takes shape. The Indianapolis Colts defense has the opportunity to shock the entire NFL. But while stopping the Chiefs may be something shocking to those outside the organization, it will just be another day at the office for these Colts.
