Colts injury report: More players participate on Wednesday
By Ryan Stano
After a bleak looking injury report following a walkthrough, the Colts look to be slightly more healthy heading into the rest of the week.
Yesterday, the Colts had multiple players out if they had practiced. Today, it wasn’t quite as bad. They still had a decent amount of players out, but a few key guys did return for an actual practice today out in the cold and snowy conditions.
Only five players did not practice in some sort of capacity today. Denico Autry, Ryan Grant, T.Y. Hilton, Malik Hooker, and Tyquan Lewis were all held out of practice today. Hilton is no surprise, as he probably won’t practice all week but will still play. The rest are up in the air.
The Colts also had to place safety Mike Mitchell on IR today with his calf injury. That is a big blow, as he had played well when he was healthy enough to stay on the field. The good news is that Clayton Geathers returned to practice with his knee injury.
If Geathers can get healthy in time to play on Saturday, that would be huge. Especially with Hooker currently questionable. If I had to guess right now though, I would say both would play in Kansas City. They will do anything they can to make sure they’re ready.
Eric Ebron, Dontrelle Inman, and Jabaal Sheard all returned to practice as well. Ebron and Inman returning is huge because Andrew Luck is running short on weapons. Ebron should definitely play Saturday, but Inman is more up in the air. Expect Sheard to play as well.
The Colts obviously hope every one of these guys will be healthy enough to play on Saturday. We will see if that is the case and who will step up if some of these guys can’t go.
