Back in April, Colts GM Chris Ballard made a decision to invest in the future of the offensive line and the health of his quarterback. He did that by drafting Quenton Nelson out of Notre Dame with the 6th overall pick in the draft. What a decision that was.

Nelson has been a constant on the line. He has yet to miss a single snap of football. He is big and mean, and does a great job in the run game as well as the pass game. Nelson gets to the second level and destroys linebackers on run plays, and keeps the pocket clean on pass plays.

Nelson played so well in his rookie year that he made the Prow Bowl. That is the first of what should be many nominations for his career. He is the type of guy the Colts should have drafted years ago to protect Andrew Luck. But now he is here to stay and looks to be a factor for many years.

Speaking of being a newcomer, so is the next Colts player on this list.
