Early on in the season, the Colts struggled mightily. They started out 1-5, and looked lost. Then the team started getting healthy, and turned everything around.

The Colts started the 2018 season just like they ended the 2017 season: faltering down the stretch. They lost a big lead to the Bengals. That was the start that Colts fans were dreading after getting Andrew Luck back healthy for the season.

Games continued like that a long stretch of the season. All along, Colts players kept going down like flies. They kept losing key players to injury, and that forced them to play backups who just weren’t good enough to be out there.

But then they started to get healthy. The bye week came at the perfect time for this team, and all those key players started to come back. Once they got healthy, everything on this team changed. They started to play like the team everyone thought they could be before the season started.

Now, they look like a force to be reckoned with. They are a dominant team on both sides of the ball. With them being as healthy as they have been all year long, they have put themselves in the playoff conversation. That is no small feat after what they went through earlier in the year.

If they weren’t able to fight back after all of the injuries, no one would have blamed them. They could have sunk down and tried to get a high draft pick for next season. But that is not the heart of this team. This team has grit and determination.

It will be interesting to see where that determination takes this team. How far they go will be based on the continuation of their health. But hopefully, they can keep that going and keep playing at a high level.
