The Colts have been playing fantastic football recently, having won four straight. And their quarterback has emerged into an MVP candidate with his great play.

Andrew Luck has been playing great all season long. But recently, his play has been elevated over the course of the last four games. Over that span, he has thrown 13 touchdowns and only one pick, and that was because of a drop. Because of that, he is now in the MVP discussion.

No one saw this coming, a year removed from shoulder surgery. He missed all of last year with that shoulder injury. He had been playing great football until he got hurt. Now he is playing the best football of his career, and the rest of the league is starting to take notice.

Luck has been doing it with a bunch of different weapons as well. Eric Ebron has been playing at an unreal level, leading all tight ends in the league in touchdown catches. T.Y. Hilton killed it last week. He even has been throwing to the running backs more.

The play of Luck has been anchored by the offensive line. The line has been playing extremely well over the last five games, not allowing a single sack. Because of that, Luck has had enough time to find his open guys and deliver accurate balls.

There are other players who have played better than him so far this year. Patrick Mahomes leads the league in passing touchdowns, even though Luck is second. Todd Gurley has been unreal for the Rams. Drew Brees has been doing ridiculous things in New Orleans.

But even with all of those players playing better so far, that doesn’t mean Luck is that far off. He definitely deserves to be in the discussion, and could have a late push that could push him to the top.
