The Colts played a tough divisional game against the Jaguars, and it looked like they were going to run away with it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. But they still gutted out a 29-26 win.

Early on, the Colts offense could not be stopped. They scored 29 points in the first half, and had all four touchdowns scored by tight-ends. They held a 29-16 lead, and looked like they were going to cruise to their third straight victory.

That was not the case. The defense was horrendous all game long. They could not stop an anemic Jacksonville offense. They allowed the Jags to score a touchdown after a drive started at the 3 yard line. Good teams don’t allow that to happen.

As good as the offense was in the first half, it was that bad in the second half. They didn’t score at all in the third quarter, and brought back some ugly demons from earlier in the year. Those demons were drops, including Mo Alie-Cox‘s drop that resulted in a pick.

Even with the bye week, the Colts didn’t make any adjustments to the pressure problems. They hardly brought any blitzes and allowed Blake Bortles to sit in the pocket all day long. He had one of his best games of the year, as he always seems to do when he plays Indianapolis.

Moving forward, the defense is a serious concern. They played well early on in the year, but have fallen off the wagon since. If they don’t start playing better, they will lose a lot more games. They can’t consistently allow that many points to a bad offense.

Next. Can the Colts stay healthy for long?. dark

But at the end, the defense made the play when they needed it the most. Kenny Moore forced a fumble to seal it up for the Colts. Malik Hooker came up with the recovery. A win is a win. They definitely deserve credit for the play to win it.
