The Colts had their first practice since before the bye week. In that practice, only five were held out due to injury.

The Colts are as healthy as they have been all season. They were able to get some much needed rest during the bye week. Having that rest will help them down the road. But for this week’s game, five players did not practice today in preparation for that.

Clayton Geathers was one of those players. He sat out with a knee injury. He had just recovered from a neck injury that he had been dealing with for a couple of weeks. The other safety Malik Hooker practiced on a limited basis with his hip injury.

Mike Mitchell also didn’t practice because of his calf. If he didn’t play, it wouldn’t be so bad as long as Geathers and and Hooker can play. But the Colts need two of those three players to be available. Otherwise, the secondary is in trouble.

The other players who didn’t practice were Hassan Ridgeway because of an illness, Ryan Hewitt because of an ankle, and Erik Swoope because of a knee. None of those injuries are too significant, so the Colts won’t miss them too badly if they can’t play.

Ryan Grant, Marlon Mack, Nate Hairston, Kemoko Turay, and Robert Turbin all practiced on a limited basis as well. They have an assortment of injuries that shouldn’t be too serious. It is good to see Grant back out on the practice field though.

Hopefully the team continues to get healthy and can continue their strong play. Health is a big key for this team in the second half of the year. This week started out pretty well on the injury report front. Hopefully that continues the rest of the week.
