Bye weeks are huge in the NFL. It allows teams to get some much needed rest. That rest allows teams to get healthy. It will help the Colts the same way.

The Colts have been enjoying their bye week this week. They have been using it to get healthy and make some tweaks to the gameplan. With that being the case, the expectations for this team will rise once the bye week ends.

Indianapolis has been trending upward in the last couple of weeks. That trend should continue after the bye week. The Colts should be the most healthy that they have been all year long. They also should be the best that they have been all year long.

The offense is finally starting to click. They look almost unstoppable now that the offensive line is solidified and the running game is going. Having Marlon Mack back is such a big key for this offense. The defense is where there will be some question marks.

In the secondary, the Colts have still had some injuries to deal with. But they still need to make adjustments and be better. The Raiders carved up the secondary for 28 points. They could only muster 3 last night against the terrible 49ers.

But the Colts should be better in that area too. The bye week should help heal those injuries and allow people who were out to come back. They should get Malik Hooker back and possibly Clayton Geathers, although Geathers might have lost his starting spot to Mike Mitchell.

Next. Colts don't need to worry about Andrew Luck. dark

With all of this being said, the Colts have a great opportunity to win games and make a playoff push, and that is exactly what they are expected to do. They might come up short, but they are certainly going to fight for the rest of the year.
