The Colts have had a good running game the last three games. In fact it’s the best it’s been in at least a decade. That spells good things for the Colts.

Offensive balance wins games. The Colts are starting to realize that. They have run for over 200 yards the last two games for the first time since 2007. That running game is the reason they have won two games in a row and it gives fans hope.

Marlon Mack has done a great job since he has come back from injury. He does everything well when he is out there. As long as he is healthy, the running game should continue to be good. That running game should scare other teams the Colts will face.

Having the running game going that well opens up for Andrew Luck down the field. He should be able to do more off of play action. Having that play action work should allow more deep shots down the field and more big plays.

The explosion in this offense will only get better after the bye week. Having that week off to rest and get healthy will allow key players to get even more healthy and effective. That means more points and more points means more wins. More wins means playoff hopes.

Mack and Nyheim Hines seem to be the two backs of choice. Hines runs hard and is a good receiver out of the backfield as well. He has curtailed his fumbling problems for now as well. The rookie makes a great complimentary back.

I’m very excited to see how this running game continues to evolve. Colts fans should be too. Having it work like this means the offense is virtually unstoppable. And that means more wins and more happy fans.
