What the Colts can do to win more games
By Ryan Stano
The Colts have won two games in a row for the first time since 2016. But here is what they can do to keep that winning streak going.
Right now, the Colts are rolling. They are playing their best football of the year and should be proud of the last two weeks. But that doesn’t mean they can stop what they’ve been doing. They should only be focusing harder to make sure they keep up their play.
The Colts need to keep the running game going if they want to keep winning. That is the biggest key to their winning ways. They need to keep Marlon Mack healthy to keep that running game going. He is clearly the best back that they have on the roster.
They also need to keep Andrew Luck upright. They have done a good job with pass protection lately, but need to keep it going. If they can do that, their offense will be potent enough to beat most teams around the league.
Defense is the main issue. They didn’t play very well on that side of the ball. The secondary got torn up, and the defensive line didn’t do a very good job of getting pressure on the quarterback. Those are both things that need to be fixed over the bye week.
The coaching needs to continue to be aggressive as it has been. Coach Reich needs to keep calling plays to keep the balance on offense as well. That balance has been the key to the success of the offense. But balance is a product of coaching.
If the Colts can do all of these things and continue to get healthier, then they should continue to win games and put themselves in a good situation at the end of the year.
