The Colts forced overtime against the Texans and were positioned for a tie, but Frank Reich makes a stupid decision that costs his team the game.

The Colts had a tough game today against the Texans. Both teams came into the game desperate for a win. It did not look good early for the Colts as their offense looked horrible. They scored on their opening drive, and then only added three more points in the first half.

Jadeveon Clowney wreaked havoc for the Colts. He was in the backfield all day long. He had two sacks and four tackles for loss. J.J. Watt also had two sacks. The Colts’ tackles got whipped all game long, as they had backups in this game.

But in the second half, particularly in the fourth quarter, the offense got going. Andrew Luck ended up having a massive day. Early on in the game the offensive line had issues protecting him. But when he had time to throw, he made the Texans defense pay.

The defense kept the Colts in the game early. A snap off of Ryan Kelly‘s butt gave the Texans their first touchdown, and then a sack fumble gave Houston great field position to get another one. The defense did a pretty good job when the Texans had to actually drive the ball, at least early.

Houston moved the ball a little in the second half. But the Colts defense also had a good pass rush, recording 7 sacks. That was a huge part of this game. Watson also threw a pick to Pierre Desir in the second half.

The game looked ugly early. Receivers refused to catch the ball, having a ton of drops. But they got it together in the second half. Nyheim Hines had a fantastic game, recording two receiving touchdowns. He had his best game of his young career.

But after the Colts forced overtime, Frank Reich ruined everything. He went for it on 4th and 4 in their own territory with 27 seconds left. They didn’t get it, and Houston kicked a game winning field goal. It is completely inexcusable.

Reich has now given Colts fans plenty of ammunition to come after him. His play calling has already been scrutinized, and this decision will only make it worse.
