Colts will honor Edwin Jackson at game
By Ryan Stano
The Colts linebacker was tragically killed back in February. The team will honor him and his family today during the game against Houston.
Edwin Jackson was tragically lost in February to a drunk driving accident. He was in a broken down Uber on the side of the road when he and the driver of the car were struck and killed. Today during the game against Houston, they will honor the late linebacker.
The Colts were shocked when they heard of his unfortunate death. Jackson was a good linebacker who was going to compete for a starting role this season. He was very productive last season for the team and was looking to get more time on the field.
Jim Irsay and the team will donate $25,000 to a fund in Jackson’s name as well. The whole team has done a very nice job rallying around this tragedy and trying to comfort his family in any way that they can. Even though nothing can truly erase their pain.
His family should see a good game today against the Texans. Both teams will be desperate for a win and it should be a hard fought game. This is the type of game that Jackson would have loved to of played in and would have excelled in.
The Colts will also be wearing a decal with his number, 53, on their helmets. The team has been looking for ways to honor Jackson, and this is a small way in which they can do so. They know that any small way makes a difference.
