Colts vs. Texans week 4: Game predictions
By Ryan Stano
Both teams come into Sunday desperately looking for a win. This game could shape both team’s seasons. Here is how the game will shake out.
The Colts play the Texans on Sunday in their first divisional game on the year. Houston comes into Indianapolis winless and looking to change their fortunes around. But will they be able to go into Indy and beat the Colts in their house?
The running game will be key for both teams. Lamar Miller is hoping to have success to take some pressure off of Deshaun Watson. If Houston can get the running game going, they can keep the Colts offense off the field. The Colts aren’t sure who will be running the ball for them yet.
It could be Marlon Mack, as he has practiced a couple of times this week after he missed last week. Or it could be Jordan Wilkins again getting the start. Whoever starts, the other player will still get his fair share of carries as they share the load.
The Colts are pretty banged up going into this one. They have several players on the injury report. But some of them came back to practice yesterday. The availability of the Colts players could determine who wins this game. They won’t win if they have to play a bunch of backups.
Andrew Luck is due for a big game. I think this is the game where he is finally able to take some shots down the field. I expect him to have his best game of the year and keep the Colts in it all day long. Luck should be the difference in this game.
Prediction: Colts 24 Texans 17
Expect the Colts to come out firing early. They’re angry how they finished the game in Philly, and know that this game is big for the rest of their season. There is concern they could be looking ahead to New England on Thursday, but they still end up getting it done.
If the Colts don’t win this game, the season could turn ugly very quickly. This win is paramount if they want to have a successful year.
